  • Standard fly mask (this mask does not have ear nets)
  • Soft coated nylon micromesh is durable and blocks 70% of UV rays
  • Forelock hole allows the mask to fit more comfortably and keeps the forelock out of the eyes and prevents damage to the hairs
  • Light grey color is heat reflective

it seems everyone is coming out with different masks these days, but I think the Cashel is still my favorite although the quality seems to be not as good now that they are being made in China. The short nose is better if your horses like to pull each other's masks off. I like the long version better for my horses with pink noses. The long version also is good when the houseflies are out and hang out around the horse's nostrils. Ears are a must have in Maine because of the black flies.

I recently discovered Cashel fly masks. I moved barns in the last year, and though my new barn is beautiful, it sits near a creek and is plagued by mosquitoes and flies. This fly mask has fulfilled its purpose -- keeping the critters away from my mare's face! My vet even commented on the state of her eyes, recalling that many horses this year have had eye troubles due to the sudden influx of insects. My mare hasn't had any eye troubles thanks to the Cashel mask. The mask seems to hold up well, requiring a quick rinse with the hose every 2 to 4 weeks. My mare is turned out with two other mares in a partially forested pasture, and the mask has held up rather well. I will be able to use this mask for many years to come!

I love the orange masks! All my boys have orange, and the girls have pink. I love how some of the money goes towards a good cause! These masks are very durable, and I can usually get 1-2 seasons from a mask.

I purchased a pink-ear mask last year for my Spanish-Norman mare. This is one of the only masks I've found that fits her perfectly. Since she's pure white, everyone now calls her the "bunny" horse because of her pink ear covers! This is a great mask and looks as good as new in it's second season. Isabella is much happier without the flies and nats chewing up her ears!

Bought the pink ear mask for my daughters horse, quailty is great and price is affordable. Going to back to buy orange for my gelding and another pink for my other mare.

Typically these masks are more expensive than other brands. On this site, they're much less expensive.(Or about the same price if you include shipping). The fit of these masks is great. No gaping holes around the nose like I seem to get in cheaper masks. They last much longer. I've gone through several of these masks, but have never had one tear up. They seem to go missing in the pasture, but it takes a lot longer with these than other fly masks. The closure is reinforced. The fabric is soft and they come in several sizes to ensure fit. My horses seem to prefer the noseless style to the one that covers the nose.

One thing I'll say: My warmblood (17 hh, 1300 lb) fits a warmblood size in this style mask and a horse size in the style with the nose.

My favorite choice, go to fly mask - long nose for the more fly sensitive types! (Posted on 8/25/2015)

I have been purchasing the Crusader fly mask with ears for my horses for years. I have tried others, but none fit my Arabs and Morabs as well as the Crusader fly mask does. My horses prefer it's soft ear cover over the stiffer, harsher ear covers of other masks. I find they stay on better than other masks and they hold up well to hard use in a pasture with lots of trees to rub on. Even our clever ponies have a hard time getting the Crusader fly mask off. They hold up well and I usually get two summers out of the masks before having to replace them. I did a lot of searching and the price I found at Adams Horse & Pet Supplies was by far the best one out there. (Posted on 8/20/2015)
