The Bitless Bridle Beta Reins by Dr. Robert Cook match the Bitless Bridle Beta Headstall and buckles onto the bridle at the ends of the crossover straps.

  • Split ends with the option to tie them together with a small rawhide string. Beta material is very strong and does not break as easily as leather. The reason for the rawhide tie is to give the reins a breaking point in case a horse would accidentally step through the reins.
  • Plain reins are 5/8" x 54" long OR 1" x 54" long in black, brown or chestnut brown
  • Rubber grip reins are 3/4" x 54" long in black, brown or chestnut brown: nubbly rubber coating which gives a very aggressive grip.
  • Soft rubber grip reins are 3/4" x 54" long in black or textured rubber with excellent gripping power but a softer feel than regular rubber reins.

Beta reins are made of a synthetic material that combines the strength of nylon with the easy care of vinyl. Beta is particularly popular with trail and endurance riders, since the material requires no maintenance and can be subjected to virtually any fonditions without being affected. Beta's Features and make up:

  • Leather like synthetic composed of a nylon core with a vinyl coating
  • Impervious to dirt and sweat, and will give you years of use with no maintenance.
  • Durable and easy to clean
  • Has a slightly grainy surface with low sheen
  • Beta is a little heavier than nylon.

Slippery, hard to hold ontoReview by Mary
While I love my bitless bridle, I ended up replacing the Beta reins with my old leather ones because I had a hard time holding onto these, even with gloves. The little boy who was taking rides on my mare couldn't keep them at a consistent length, they were always slipping. (Posted on 10/16/2016)
No maintenance reinsReview by Michelle from Atkinson
These reins look so sharp everyone will think they are expensive leather reins. the are soft & supple and literally wipe clean with a cloth. I love them.
